“We may have started out slow, but in the end we ended doing a good job!” Myra exclaimed. “Didn’t I tell ya Chloe?”

“Hehe, you sure did!” Chloe said.

The late hours of the afternoon were coming to an end, and evening was approaching. Team Trample walked along the path back towards Tao Town. Other teams could be seen heading back as well. It seemed like they too, were wrapping up their ends of the work as well.

However, not everyone was feeling so pleasant. Closer to the back of the group, Hearth was walking with a very visible limp. Opal stayed behind with her as well. They seemed to have plenty to talk about. Anther wanted to go back and help her. But he knew if he couldn’t bring it up again. She wouldn’t allow it. So he continued to lead the way down the path.

“Anther,” Myra said, walking up next to him. “What’s going on with you and Hearth? She’s treating you like crap. Why do you let her do that?”

“Oh… it’s because of something that happened to her in mission against Sorbet. There was something I didn’t tell you when I spoke with you about it last.”

“Hm? Oh yeah, that was when we first saw you evolved,” Chloe said, recalling the scene. “So what didn’t you tell us?”

“She wouldn’t have ended up the way she did… if it hadn’t been for me. It’s my fault she ended up like that. So she has every right to be angry at me.”

“But you’re sorry right?” Myra asked. “I can see it. Can’t she see you’re genuinely sorry?”

Anther shook his head. “It’s like she told me. Being sorry won’t fix it. I can’t be sorry. I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure she gets better.”

Both Myra and Chloe exchanged sympathetic looks. But before the conversation could continue, someone else interrupted them.

“Hey, Anther!”

The group turned to see a Girafarig with a blue scarf heading their way.

Anther took a moment before he could recognize this Girafarig. It was the same one he saved back in the forest from all those Mightyena. He didn’t quite remember his name, though. “Oh! It’s you!” Anther exclaimed. “Wow, that’s a good memory you got there.”

“What are you talking about?” the Girafarig asked once he arrived. “Remembering a name isn’t that difficult.”

“Hehe, oh yeah, of course,” Anther chuckled. This little laugh was to try to cover for his embarrassment, though. He still couldn’t remember his name.

“Oh, you two know each other?” Chloe asked. She turned to the Girafarig. “My name is Chloe. And this is Myra and Opal.”

“I’m Rem,” the Girafarig replied. “But anyway, I have not come to chat.” He turned back to Anther. “I heard the Legendary Pokemon Celebi appeared within the village. Is this true?”

“Huh? Is that what the Pokemon is called?” Anther asked. “We all just know her by Jasmine. Is a Celebi small and green? Because if it is, then we did see it.” To this Rem nodded.

“Do you know anything about this Pokemon?” Hearth asked.

“There isn’t too much known about this Pokemon.” He answered impatiently. “That why I want to try to talk with it. So I can find out everything I can. What is known is that this Pokemon is able to travel through time. On top of that it is capable of restoring plants to perfect health. There are other details, but I didn’t come out here to lecture you on it. If you say that this Pokemon is in Tao, then I must head that way now.”

“You wouldn’t think she was a legendary after speaking with her, though,” Opal thought allowed.

Rem had already started to leave. But these words stopped him in his tracks. “What!?” Rem blurted. “You all got the chance to speak with the legendary Celebi?”

“Well, yeah,” Chloe answered. “She was the one who had all these Pokemon go out and do all this work. So she made sure when we set off we were in the right direction.”

“I can’t believe this,” Rem exclaimed. “Two appearances from legendary Pokemon in the same town. I’m not going to miss out this time. I must speak to it!” He stormed off towards the town, leaving Team Trample and Team Rowanberry in his dust.

“That was… er… interesting…” Myra said.

“He was headed the same way we were. He could have walked with us,” Chloe said.

“Oh I’ve been meaning to ask you something Anther,” Myra said, turning to him. “How exactly did you evolve anyway? Was it hard?”

“It was hard for me,” Anther answered. “For the longest time I couldn’t do it because I was thinking things the wrong way. But I managed to evolve just in time. Thanks to my evolution, I was able to save Hearth.”

Hearth looked away in annoyance. “Tch… you mean you had to save me from the mess you put me in…”

“Yeah…” Anther said.

“Ah… well,” Myra said. She was trying her best not to let Hearth’s attitude get to her too. “I’ve been thinking lately, maybe it would be cool if I could evolve.”

“Really? I myself have never thought about evolving before,” Chloe said, a thoughtful look on her face. “But I'm sure it wold be a lot of help to be bigger and stronger!”

“So that’s how you got your leg broken,” Opal said. “Is it going to take a long time to heal?”

“It’s not going to heal,” Hearth said. “The way the bones broke in my leg make it extremely difficult for a Pokemon of my body type to heal properly. No, the only way this can be fixed is if I evolve.”

“I see,” Opal said. “It is strange. A Pokemon like me doesn’t really need to worry about that. If something breaks off of me it will just grow back eventually. I guess that doesn’t happen with all Pokemon, though.”

“I got it!” Myra announced. She turned to Hearth. “What do you think. Let’s both give our best effort to evolve! How does that sound?”

Hearth was speechless for a moment. A smile lit up her face, something that she didn’t do too often anymore. “That sounds fun,” Hearth said. “Alright, we’ll both do our best then.”

The teams continued to make their way towards the town. All in all, even though it was a slow start, the day turned out productive. Everyone seemed to finish this day on a good note. To Anther’s pleasant surprise, even Hearth was managing to give a smile now, despite the pain she must have been in. Now all that was left to do was to see what Jasmine had in store for them.
